Don't let a four star rating fool you. This is a wonderful book of poetry. Amy Carmichael's life was not about being rich, comfortable or being taken care of by others. She hits at a lot of themes that have to do with personal growth, relationships with others and especially our need to allow Christ to form His image in us. This is the type of book that should be on your coffee table or other easily accessible place where family, friends and visitors can read and be inspired. I only put 4 stars not because it isn't an excellent book (it is) but that if somewhere ever republishes it, maybe a few more photos of Amy's life and ministry would help give background to the poems. This is a good book to read to your kids as well...good grammar and a good command (simply written) of English prose. God bless you in absorbing the brief but profound messages of this book.
