About fifteen months ago we reprinted Alexander Whyte’s classic work on prayer, Lord, Teach Us to Pray. Recently, we’ve been preparing one of his other books for the press: With Mercy and With Judgment. This is also a collection of sermons, but this time the subjects are more varied. Whyte was undoubtedly one of the greatest Scottish preachers ever. Warren Wiersbe has written a short biographical sketch of Whyte in his 50 People Every Christian Should Know.He emphasizes Whyte’s diligence and hard work in sermon preparation, his warm pastoral heart, and his “surgical” preaching. “Do not put off reading Whyte’s sermons,” he urges. We hope to have this title printed and ready for purchase in 2-3 weeks.
Another title we’re currently working on is: The Christian Hero, A Sketch of the Life of Robert Annan. This is the amazing story of Robert Annan of Dundee, Scotland. His life reads a little like that of John Newton, author of the popular hymn Amazing Grace. He was wonderfully converted after a life of sinning and running from God, and was then used by the Lord to help bring other wandering sheep back to the fold of God’s love and grace. We can’t wait to get this title off the presses and we’re sure it will be a blessing to many. Hopefully this little volume will be ready in about 4-5 weeks. Stay tuned!
Last but not least, we’re also working on a biography of William Bramwell, an amazing preacher and intercessor among the early Methodists. We don’t have a target date for this release yet, but the Lord willing it should be some time this summer.
