Kingsley Press is pleased to announce the immediate availability of their newest publication: Mrs. Penn-Lewis: A Memoir by Mary N. Garrard. This is an incredible biography! If you only read one book this whole summer, let it be this one! This is the original biography, first published in 1930, and is complete and unabridged but completely re-typeset. As with all other Kingsley Press publications, this book is also available as an eBook for Kindle, iBooks, Nook, and Kobo.
Part of the first paragraph of the book’s introduction is an apt description of her own spiritual journey:
“There is a course prepared for each believer from the moment of his new birth, providing for the fullest maturity of the new life within him and the highest which God can make of his life in the use of every faculty for his service. To discover that course and fulfill it is the one duty of every soul.”
Mrs. Penn-Lewis seems to have determined from the very beginning of her walk with God that she would seek to possess in actual experience everything that Christ’s redemptive work purchased for her–that she would “possess her possessions.” Here is what she wrote on her 23rd birthday:
“All that I have, all that I am, all that I may be is Thine, wholly, absolutely, and unreservedly,” wrote Jessie Penn-Lewis on her twenty-third birthday, “and I do believe that Thou dost take me, and that Thou wilt work in me to will and to do Thy good pleasure. Day by day draw me nearer.”
